The Pastor
Bishop D. Elaine Harris is the current pastor of Mt. Nebo Holy Church.  
Bishop Harris was appointed as the Pastor in 1987.  Bishop Harris is the
presiding prelate of the Pennsylvania – New Jersey Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of
Mt. Sinai Holy Church of America, Inc.  She also serves as a member of the
Board of Directors, the Executive Director of the National Young People’s
Department, and Chairperson of the Policy & Constitution Committee of Mt.
Sinai Holy Church of America, Inc.
Bishop Harris is a dynamic preacher, spirit led leader, and a great visionary.  She is leading the congregation of Mt. Nebo Holy Church to launch into the next era of ministry through
the celebration of our 80th Church Anniversary.  Bishop Harris teaches the importance of prayer, organization, planning, and preparation for ministry.

Bishop Harris is a graduate of Rancocas Valley Regional High School located in Mt. Holly, New Jersey.  She received her BS degree from Jersey City State College and MA degree
from The College of New Jersey.  Post graduate matriculation was conducted at Rutgers University’s Doctoral program.  Several honors were given to this great woman of God such
as:
•        A resolution from the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey in honor of religious and educational accomplishments in New Jersey and Liberia, West Africa.
•        A proclamation from the mayor of Westampton Township designating April 29, 1990 as “D. Elaine Harris Day” in recognition of contributions and achievements to the field of
education.
•        Recognition for humanitarian contributions by the township of Mt. Holly and received a citation.
•        Administrators and Board members of Bon Mines, Liberia (West Africa) named an elementary school the “D. Elaine Harris Elementary School.”
•        In 1992 awarded the VIP Award from Rancocas Valley Regional High School’s Alma Mater and name/portrait was placed in the Hall of Fame.
•        Recognized by the New Jersey State Senate by way of a resolution in 1994 for educational achievements ~ Outstanding Citizenship Award 1995: The New Jersey State
Federation of Colored Women’s Club.
•        The Media Center of the Westampton Middle School was named as the “D. Elaine Harris Media Center” after retirement as the Principal (Guidance Counselor and
Administrator – 31 years of service).
